Meet the Ecogen Team

William Nicholls

Managing Director

William has been working the plastic recycling industry since 2005. In 2010 William founded Ecogen Recycling Ltd and based operations out of a small site in Winchester, Hampshire. By January 2015 the company had out-grown its surroundings and relocated operations to a three acre site in Alresford, Hampshire. As MD, William remains highly involved with operations and has continued guiding the business through constant growth, into profitability now with a multi-million pound annual turnover. In his limited spare time, William will be found cruising around Hampshire on various motorbikes or spending time with family.

James Lewis

Commercial Director

James joined the company in 2013 from outside the industry. With a sales and management background he was brought in to expand and develop the business. In 2015 James was invited to join Ecogen’s board of directors and he continues to manage the team of commercial buyers as well as directing marketing and customer service. In his spare time, James will be found playing any number of sports or in the Alps skiing.

Toby Mottram

Operations Manager

Toby joined the company in 2014 having had a background in sales and construction. After a stint in the commercial team he accepted the role of operations manager at Alresford which involves managing the team of operatives, health and safety practices and production efficiency. In his spare time Toby will be found racing in a rowing boat in Henley or Marlow.



We are looking for self-motivated people to join our business development team based in Hampshire. If you are interested in a new challenge in a dynamic, growing environment please do get in touch. You don’t need to be an expert in materials or have experience in waste management, our training programme is designed to give you all the tools you need to be successful. All we ask for is a ‘can-do’ attitude and a commitment to great customer service.
